“COVID-19 WOKE the World Up” By: Lauren Schwartz

Having this experience with COVID and with the medical field, it was an interesting story and really showed my experience that I had with the health care workers. I really wanted to express how I am feeling through pictures and dialoged. With that I have created a Graphic Novel called “Covid-19 Woke the World Up.” I have 4 different scenes that I wanted to express. Scene 1 is How it all began, Scene 2: The transition, Scene 3: My experience, and finally Scene 4: How to grow for the next pandemic. I am mainly reaching out to other people who have been through the same thing, so they have people to related to. I also want doctors and people who are in the medical field to see first-hand how people felt at the beginning of this pandemic. If I am able to get my message acrossed to doctors and other medical staff, I feel like my job was well done. If they do see this, I believe they could take action in order to be ready and prepared for the next pandemic for future generations. My inspiration is that I am looking to go into the medical field and I really want to help people that come across these things. While researching these things I found some really helpful information that I think could help the medical field. I also have friends that have family that have passed away due to covid-19. This makes me want to help even more because some of the 200,000 people that have died by covid-19 has been people that I know or that I know of.
